Kwame Safo presenting BLACMEX at UNESCO Fair Culture Charter
BLACMEX x United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and International Labour Organisation (ILO)
In April, BLACMEX co-founder Kwame Safo, took part in a first of its kind Culture and Creative Economy Foresight Workshop in Turin, Italy. The workshop was attended by over 30 international participants from the Orange Economy and used future foresight methodology to reimagine future scenarios facing the world of the creative industries and labour legislation. Kwame Safo hosted a presentation and Q&A on BLACMEX, the UK’s first Black music export office and the circumstances which meant infrastructure of this nature was necessary to be constructed.
A report on the findings of the Culture and Creative Economy Foreign workshop will be published at some point later in the year.
BLACMEX x UNESCO Fair Culture Charter
As part of our commitment, to represent the UK's Black music export on a global level, BLACMEX is now a listed supporter of UNESCO Fair Culture Charter. The Fair Culture Charter aims to build a strong movement to make culture and the creative industries more equitable on a global scale.
